Introduction

Boba is the operator’s seat for AI agents. It coordinates and runs agents, connects them to your terminal, browser, and Telegram, works with whatever models you point it at (hosted or local), and keeps you in control of your machines, models, data, and workflow.

Boba is sharpest today for coding work, but it isn’t limited to it.

What you get

  • A terminal UI (TUI) — the primary way to drive agents interactively.
  • Multiple agents & sub-agents — coordinate a crew, not just one chatbot.
  • Tools with approvals — agents read/write files, run shell, drive a browser; risky actions can require your sign-off.
  • Memory, tasks, and scheduling — agents that remember, track work, and run on a timer.
  • A live terminal and diff view — watch what your agents are doing.
  • A self-hosted web UI and Telegram — reach your agents from a browser or your phone, running entirely on your backend.
  • Any model, your infra — hosted or local; your data stays on your machines.

Where to start

  • Get started — install, run the setup wizard, understand the moving parts.
  • Operate — the daemon, profiles, approvals, memory, and scheduled work.
  • Self-host — put the web UI on your own Supabase project. This is the part that makes Boba an operator’s console rather than another agent CLI.
  • Reference — every command, every config key.

Status

Boba is in active development and pre-1.0. The CLI and TUI are what we use every day; the web UI is self-hostable and currently alpha — it moves fast, and its schema still changes between versions.
